Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre respects your privacy and recognizes the importance of protecting your personal information. Sunnybrook collects personal information about job candidates and new hires under the authority of the Public Hospitals Act, and applicable employment related legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, and the Income Tax Act as is necessary for the proper administration of its workforce.
Sunnybrook uses your personal information to facilitate the hiring and onboarding process. This includes verifying your eligibility for a position, conducting interviews, checking references, conducting background checks or other pre-employment assessments, and communicating with you about the hiring and onboarding process. If you receive an offer of employment, Sunnybrook will use your personal information to administer salary and benefits and to otherwise establish and manage the employment relationship with you. Sunnybrook may also use your personal information to assess application and hiring trends and improve its hiring processes.
Your personal information may be accessed by Sunnybrook staff who are involved in the hiring and onboarding process and the ongoing administration of your employment with Sunnybrook, if applicable. Sunnybrook may share your personal information with service providers, such as those who assist in conducting reference checks and otherwise processing employment applications.
