Summary of Duties

RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents within a Primary Nursing care delivery model within their scope of practice. The RPN supports the philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with the Interprofessional Team.

Qualifications/Skills

• Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration

• Current B.C.L.S

• Diploma RPN or equivalent

• Patient and Family focused care philosophy required

• Experience in Long Term Care required

• Recent nursing experience in gerontology

• Experience with dementia preferred

• Psychogeriatric experience a definite asset

• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated attention to detail

• Experience with primary nursing an asset

• Strong assessment skills

• Ability to work effectively as a team player

• Computer and keyboarding skills
