DESCRIPTION
The Dr. Sandra Black Centre for Brain Resilience & Recovery at Sunnybrook Research Institute are seeking an energetic and experienced individual to perform clinical research activities in a dynamic and collegial environment. The ideal candidate will have a M.Sc. or B.Sc. in psychology or neuroscience. Preference will be given to those with experience administering cognitive tests; to those with experience coordinating clinical trials and observational research; and to those with experience working with the elderly and/or individuals with cognitive difficulties.
This position requires:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability work well under pressure.
- Able to work independently and professionally, as well as in a team environment with strong problem solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and dependable with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize your workload and the flexibility to adjust to changing work plans, schedules and deadlines.
- Self-motivated team member with a demonstrated ability to show initiative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with elderly volunteers and patients with dementia, movement disorders and/or stroke
- Conduct patient screening, recruitment and consent, schedule study appointments, complete data collection and data entry, and address queries in a timely manner
- Administer and score neuropsychological tests and caregiver questionnaires for ongoing industry clinical trials and observational studies
- Administer a variety of experimental, neurocognitive and clinical measures, including gait and eye-tracking assessments
- Maintain research databases which include patient demographics, clinical, neuropsychological, neuroimaging and genetic variables etc.
- Organize blood sample collection and assist with sample processing and shipping
- Maintain Investigator Site File and essential documents
- Prepare for monitoring visits and address monitor findings in a timely manner
- Assist with ethics and grant applications, literature searches, PowerPoint presentations and manuscript submissions as required
- Function as part of a patient-focused team of professionals
- Maintain ongoing, professional communication with staff (doctors, fellows, residents and co-workers) in order to help maintain comprehensive patient care
