Salary Range: $42.119 - $54.049/hr

Summary of Duties

  • Provides LIS support to both internal and external users, reporting directly to the LIS Manager
  • Supports projects to implement the objectives of the Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutics Program  
  • Areas of Responsibility include, but are not limited to, supporting both WellSky Transfusion and CoPath LIS’, LIS maintenance, creating validation protocols, software and hardware testing, data retrieval, documentation & developing operating policies and procedures, server support
  • Develops staff training protocols
  • Communicates and liaises with laboratory staff, Medical/Scientific staff, management, Information Service’s employees and external stakeholders
  • Organizes and prioritizes workflow as required
  • Adheres to laboratory quality management system
  • Provides leadership through mentorship and sharing of knowledge
  • Works collaboratively with staff within the Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutics Program 

                                                  

Qualifications/Skills

  • 3 years recent hospital laboratory experience in a hospital Blood Bank Lab, with current CMLTO registration required
  • Laboratory information system experience with WellSky Transfusion preferred
  • Experience with CoPath and Sunquest Lab an asset
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SQL database management (ie SSRS) preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve integration issues between interfaces and applications
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of end users in a collaborative manner
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Other duties as required
