Summary of Duties:

The Student Support role is a temporary casual position designed for a university student enrolled in a pharmacy or health sciences program. The successful candidate will provide on-site assistance within the pharmacy department, supporting maintenance activities for IV pumps and contributing to quality assurance initiatives through data analysis. This role offers practical experience in a healthcare setting, fostering skills in equipment management and data-driven quality improvement.

 

Key Duties

IV Pump Maintenance Support:

  • Identify IV pumps that require battery replacements.
  • Assist in the documentation and tracking of pump maintenance activities.
  • Support the safe and effective operation of pharmacy equipment.

Quality Assurance and Data Analytics:

  • Collect, organize, and analyze data related to pharmacy equipment and processes.
  • Assist with miscellaneous quality assurance tasks as assigned.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data reporting.

General On-Site Support:

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure smooth operations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a pharmacy or health sciences undergraduate program.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with data tools is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work on-site at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
