The Complex OutPatient Antibiotic Treatment (COPAT) Clinic is an innovative clinic launching at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre to offload occupancy pressures in the Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient wards, by providing safe, effective and efficient outpatient care for patients on oral or intravenous antibiotic treatment for common and serious infectious diseases under the supervision of Sunnybrook Infectious Diseases division Patients seen in the clinic will be Infectious Diseases service patients referred from the SCOPE program, patients discharged from the wards, as well as those requiring urgent follow-up from the Emergency Department.
Summary of Duties for COPAT PAA
- Provide advanced PAA support to the COPAT Team
- Receive COPAT email referrals from Infectious Diseases team and organize follow-up
- Monitor PAA.COPAT@sunnybrook.ca email and respond to patients
- Respond to incoming phone calls, direct inquiries to appropriate personnel/area
- Greet patients on arrival
- Register patients and update patient information
- Schedule appointments and prepare patient schedule
- Coordinate diagnostic procedures
- Prepare charts
- Order supplies
- Coordinate with PAA of the General Infectious Diseases clinic
- Payroll duties as required
- Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications/Skills for COPAT PAA
- Completion of Medical Office Administration program or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year of Administrative/Business experience required, in a health care setting preferred
- Working knowledge of PHS/PAS, QuadraMed, Sunnycare, Outlook, MS Office and Zoom
- Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proven ability to respond effectively in stressful situations
- Excellent problem solving skills, ability to deal with conflict and communicate appropriately with patients, families and staff
- Effective time management skills and ability to multitask is essential
- Advanced organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in an inter-professional team
- Keyboarding at 40 net w.p.m minute or keyboarding at 106 net keystrokes per minute
- Demonstrated satisfactory attendance and punctuality required
