Salary Range: $52.200-$70.400/hr

Summary of Duties

The Robotic RNFA reports to PCMs and works collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to deliver high-quality care throughout the patient’s perioperative experience, with a primary focus on robotic-assisted surgical procedures.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the setup, coordination, trouble shooting, and intraoperative assistance of robotic cases, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and smooth surgical flow. The RNFA will assist the perioperative team intraoperatively in all functions, including circulating duties, and apply expert clinical and evidence-based practice grounded in advanced education and experience.

Although this position is dedicated to robotic cases, flexibility is required to work weekends and to support both the Holland and Bayview Campuses as operational needs arise.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applies the nursing process to all aspects of the RNFA role
  • Assists in providing a safe working environment for perioperative personnel and patients.
  • Provides direct intraoperative assistance to the surgeon during robotic procedures
  • Supports equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of robotic systems
  • Promotes collegiality, teamwork, and effective communication within the perioperative team
  • Acts as a patient advocate

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • College of Nurses of Ontario License
  • B.Sc.N
  • CPN (C) preferred
  • RNAO Membership
  • Completion of Recognized RNFA Program
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in O.R.
  • BCLS/ACLS mandatory
  • Models professional behaviour
  • Pursues professional leadership and development
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking
