Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is undertaking Project REACH, a multi-year initiative to implement Oracle Health’s Hospital Information System (HIS) across all campuses. This major transformation will consolidate clinical, operational, and administrative data to enhance patient care, improve data quality, and enable integrated reporting and analytics.

The Data Analyst – Data Migration will work in close collaboration with the Data Architect – Data Migration to support all phases of the data migration process. This includes data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation from multiple legacy systems (Telus OACIS, Harris QCPR, GE/Philips) into Oracle Health Millennium.

This role is critical to ensuring that data migrated to Oracle Health is accurate, complete, and compliant with PHIPA and Sunnybrook’s data governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Data Extraction, Mapping & Transformation

  • Support the Data Architect – Data Migration in the design and execution of the data migration strategy.
  • Assist with the extraction, mapping, and transformation of data from legacy systems to Oracle Health data structures.
  • Prepare datasets for staging and validation, ensuring data alignment with approved data models.
  • Perform data profiling and cleansing activities to identify data quality issues prior to migration.

Data Validation & Reconciliation

  • Conduct detailed validation and reconciliation between source, staging, and target systems to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
  • Execute SQL queries and validation scripts to identify discrepancies and ensure data consistency across environments.
  • Document and escalate data quality issues for resolution and participate in error remediation cycles.
  • Support multiple mock conversions and migration test cycles, including go-live readiness activities.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain documentation of data mappings, transformation logic, validation scripts, and reconciliation results.
  • Ensure all migration activities adhere to Sunnybrook’s data governance, privacy, and security requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation of data quality dashboards and audit logs to support transparency and oversight.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with the Data Architect – Data Migration, Integration, and Technical teams to ensure successful execution of migration tasks.
  • Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to verify data migration requirements and validation results.
  • Participate in migration workgroup sessions and readiness checkpoints to support testing and issue resolution.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Participate in system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for data migration validation.
  • Support test planning, execution, and documentation for migrated data elements.
  • Assist in post-migration verification to ensure data integrity and readiness for operational use.
