We have a Regular Full-Time opportunity for a Platform Coordinator with the Evaluative Clinical Sciences Platform of the Sunnybrook Research Institute (Bayview Campus).
Hours of work: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week
The Evaluative Clinical Sciences Research Platform has 300+ scientists and 360+ employees. The Platform Coordinator supports the Platform Manager in the preparation and submission of human resources paperwork, employee timesheets, on/off boarding of staff, space allocation and general administration.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Coordinate the co-op/summer student hiring paperwork, on/off boarding process, and payroll administration.
- Coordinate ID Badges, keys, network accounts, U of T Library accounts, VPN access, mandatory training for students and staff
- Assist in the orientation of new staff on processes and procedures
- Assist in preparation and submission of HR paperwork for platform staff
- Provides training and functional support to administrative team (methods to be used, etc.)
- Assist in the expansion of SRI co-op program within ECS/SRI
- Assist Platform Manager with issues related to building access for platform staff
- Assist Platform Manager with cost recovery processes
- Work with the Platform Manager in selection and purchase of equipment and supplies
- Liaise with Platform Manager, Directors and SRI facilities re space improvements/utilization
- Member of space allocation team
- Liaise with SHSC Accounts Payable, vendors as needed
- Provide coverage for Platform Manager during vacation
- Proofread and edit for manuscripts and grant submissions
- Create grant and project budgets, oversight of monthly expenditures
- Upload and oversee research ethics and legal submissions
- Route media inquiries and interaction with Sunnybrook communications
- Coordinate faculty reviews for university departments
- Administration tasks for PI as required
Qualifications and preferred experience:
- University degree or Community College Diploma
- 5 years of office administration experience preferably in a university or research environment
- Human resources experience an asset
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Superior grammar and proof-reading skills; accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to produce high quality work and to work well under pressure in order to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Canadian Common CV (CCV), Refman/Endnote, Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent written and oral communication, office management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, shows initiative
- Ability to exercise discretion, good judgement and maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of research environment and hospital administration
- Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
