Salary Range: $37.572-$38.160/hour

Summary of Duties

RPNs are responsible for the total care of within their scope of practice, including socialization of behaviourally challenged dementia residents in a highly specialized cognitive support unit. The RPN supports the philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration

  • Current B.C.L.S

  • Experience in Long Term Care required

  • Patient and Family focused care philosophy required

  • Cognitive support experience required

  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention course preferred

  • Ability to work effectively and therapeutically in a setting with residents with senile Dementia Alzheimer’s Type

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience with primary nursing an asset

  • Strong assessment skills

  • Ability to work effectively as a team player

  • Computer and keyboarding skills
