Salary Range: $36.515 - $46.857

Summary of Duties: 

This position reports to the Director of Education, Innovation and Partnerships. The Nursing Education Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and program coordination support to the Nursing Education team. This role supports Nursing Education, Professional Development, and corporate education activities within an Interprofessional environment.

Key responsibilities include:

    • Assist in calendar management for the Nursing Education related meetings and events
    • Provide support to nursing and corporate committees, including booking meetings, organizing required materials, catering, taking/circulating minutes etc.
    • Maintain overall yearly calendar with a focus on Nursing Education
    • Maintain resources and bookings for areas such as the nursing classroom and nursing skills lab
    • Maintain resources and bookings for all nursing education teaching equipment
    • Provide administrative support to department and corporate projects as required
    • Organize, monitor & report on department budgets; process and monitor expenses; requisition for and manage departmental supplies and equipment
    • Assist with CPR course administration; room bookings; course fee payments; ordering of supplies and equipment
    • Update Sunnynet (intranet) pages for Nursing Education and related
    • Coordinate Nursing and interprofessional development workshops including, but not limited to set up workshops in the learning management system, preparation of materials, booking rooms and catering requirements
    • Coordinate Nursing Education Awards and other corporate Education awards events. Administers applications, disbursements and maintains applicant database.  Liaises with Organizational Development & Leadership, Human Resources and Finance as required.  Participates in awards committee meetings; budget tracking of trust accounts.
    • Assists with special events relating to education (e.g. Sunnybrook Education Advisory Council, Education Conference, Nursing Week etc.) as required.
    • Coordinate and supports the Nursing Orientation program by developing and maintaining the presenter schedule, booking rooms and arranging the monthly setup, liaising with Information Systems for network and application access, and preparing onboarding schedules and learning packages for all participants.
    • Coordinate and support agency nurse onboarding, liaising with agency partners and documenting compliance requirements.
    • Other duties as appropriate

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Completion of a relevant post-secondary Administrative Assistant/Office Management Program and/or equivalent appropriate work experience required. 
  • Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point & Adobe Professional required.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and experience taking meeting minutes required.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal abilities, team-based skills, and customer oriented approach
  • Demonstrated tact, discretion and good judgment in dealing with extremely sensitive and confidential issues required.
  • Superior time management, organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated independence and comfort in taking initiative on resolving issues within scope of responsibility
  • Experience/comfort with education-related technologies (e.g. web casting, videoconferencing, online survey tools, audience response technologies) and events preferred
