Summary of Duties
In addition to the duties of a Nuclear Medicine technologist, Senior technologists will:

•    Coordinate daily operations, functions and procedures to ensure excellent patient care and efficient operations within the Nuclear Medicine division (including PET)
•    Works collaboratively with the other Senior Technologist
•    Assist with the selection, orientation and evaluation of new technologists
•    Assist in organizing staff meetings and rounds (clinical, research & academic) 
•    Assist with the ongoing training and  professional development and provide feedback regarding progress of Technologists
•    Participate in quality assurance and process improvement projects / processes
•    Update and respond to emergency codes and emergency fan out where necessary
•    Orders radiopharmaceuticals and maintains daily department supplies
•    Record keeping of all Equipment QC Files
•    Assist in leading best practice, quality and safety assurance in Nuclear Medicine including, but not limited to, radiation safety, hospital accreditation etc.
•    Assist in updating imaging policies, processes and procedures where applicable to Nuclear Medicine
•    Evaluate students, including completing evaluations and logbooks.  Coordinate student schedules
•    Lead Research Initiatives including determining feasibility and developing procedures for both existing and new protocols


Qualifications/Skills

•    CMRTO Registration in the specialty of Nuclear Medicine
•    Current BCLS 
•    Minimum 5 years recent related experience as a Nuclear Medicine technologist across all areas of imaging required
•    Demonstrated leadership experience an asset 
•    Demonstrated understanding of all applicable regulatory standards and legislation
•    Able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams as well as independently
•    Effective professional communication with all levels of staff - both verbally and written
•    Promotes team work and interprofessional collaboration.
•    Working knowledge of Agfa RIS an asset.
•    Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office required
•    Working knowledge of LEAN principles and tools for process improvement an asset
