Summary of Duties:
The Odette Cancer Centre is seeking a Project Manager – Process Optimization who will play a pivotal role in driving the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at improving care delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency. This position requires a strong background in healthcare project management, process optimization, and care innovation with the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver transformative projects. You will collaborate with clinical, operational, and leadership teams to design, implement, and monitor programs that enhance operational efficiency, improve quality of care and patient experience.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in identifying, prioritizing, and implementing new care delivery models, technologies, and processes to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
- Resource and bedflow optimization in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, including discharge process optimization
- Provide leadership in identifying and strengthening community integration including patients but not limited to survivorship
- Lead multiple healthcare optimization and care delivery projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines
- Drive the development and execution of innovative strategies to improve patient care and optimize healthcare delivery systems
- Analyze data and performance metrics to assess the impact of process optimization projects, making recommendations for scaling or adjusting initiatives
- Act as a thought leader in operational excellence by staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the healthcare sector
- Develop and deliver presentations to leadership to facilitate effective decision-making on objectives and plans
- Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders at the regional and provincial levels
- Ensuring appropriate engagement with patients, families and caregivers in the implementation of projects
Key Qualifications:
- Post Secondary degree and Masters in health, industrial engineering, and/or quality related field is required (MBA, MPH, MHA)
- PMP certification required
- Lean/Six Sigma preferred
- 5+ years of experience in project management within healthcare, including significant experience with process optimization
- Strong leadership, relationship, communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to implement and manage large scale projects/change that involves interdisciplinary stakeholders
- Familiarity with healthcare systems, cancer care, policy and regulations
