Temporary part-time (1 year) Research Technician – Biophotonics and Radiation Therapy lab

 

Sunnybrook Research Institute (fully affiliated with the University of Toronto) has an opening for a temporary full-time, Research Technician in the laboratory of Dr. Deepak Dinakaran (www.radiophotonicslab.com). The position will be available for one year (15 hours per week) with possibility for renewal.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Molecular biology skills required include immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical staining, western blot, flow cytometry, ELISA.
  • Prior experience as a technician in a biochemistry and/or molecular biology laboratory with diverse scientific interests; knowledge in "biophysics" is an asset
  • Ability to work with collaborating clinicians and scientists provincially and across Canada/US
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and within a core research program.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented (The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team with minimal supervision)

 

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or related field. MSc is an asset for this position.
