Summary of Duties

Successful candidate would have been a current SHSC employed full time technologist in MR whose responsibilities are to support the advancement and transformation of Medical Imaging (MI) clinical applications of imaging and informatics systems, training of end users in the use of these solutions and applications, while continuing their clinical practice as an MRT. It is estimated that it will be a 50/50 split between informatics and clinical practice. Reports to manager (clinical applications & solutions) with joint oversight by manager (MR).

Informatics Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Support training in various medical imaging applications for staff physicians, residents, fellows, nurses, allied health professionals, TAs, clerical staff etc.
  • Support charge technologist with implementation, training and evaluation of advanced imaging workflow processes to enhance patient outcomes and patient and end user experience.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance of imaging information systems (PACS/RIS)
  • Support first response PACS help desk functionality including helping end users troubleshoot applications issues, PACS corrections, etc. in collaboration with PACS System Administrators

Clinical duties include but not limited to:

  • Perform all applicable responsibilities as an MRT in MR

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Current registration with CMRITO in the specialty of MR
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in MR
  • Experience providing software / program training to end users within MI
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an interprofessional team environment, acquire end users engagement and work independently while making sound judgments
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Clinical educator experience is an asset
  • Imaging informatics certificate or equivalent is an asset
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
