Research Summary:
Dr. Catriona Buick (Principal Investigator) is seeking a Research Coordinator to provide support to the PI, including proposal and grant writing/editing, writing REB applications, data extraction and/or collection, study management and coordination, formal data analysis, and manuscript writing and editing. The Research Coordinator will work independently and alongside the PI, the study team, members of the healthcare team and work directly with participants.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide comprehensive support to the Principal Investigator (PI) across all phases of research, including proposal and grant writing/editing, study design, REB applications, study coordination, and long‑term research planning.
- Coordinate and manage research studies, including scheduling meetings, liaising with healthcare teams, faculty, and study personnel, and undertaking administrative tasks aligned with program goals.
- Independently conduct data collection and/or extraction in accordance with study protocols using tools such as REDCap, and maintain and monitor study databases.
- Analyze and interpret research data, applying professional judgement and risk assessment to proactively address issues that may arise. Conduct qualitative and mixed‑methods analyses, including synthesizing and thematically analyzing interview data (with support as needed), and perform formal statistical analyses for quantitative studies.
- Prepare and contribute to manuscripts, reports, conference presentations, and publications, including literature searches and reviews.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert and resource to study and study team members.
- Recruit and engage research participants for current and future studies through clinics and/or phone outreach, and support participant follow‑up, including questionnaire administration via data management systems.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree, or PhD student/candidate with 2 years’ experience
- Experience working within the clinical environment and or with vulnerable populations (speaking/communication with patients).
- Experience with research coordination and managing research projects
- Experience using REDCap.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Priority will be given to those who meet affirmative action criteria.
