The Process Coordinator – Systemic Therapy is a key pharmacy operations leadership role responsible for the coordination, optimization, and strategic advancement of systemic therapy services at the Odette Cancer Centre. This role provides operational oversight across sterile compounding, staging, and clinical oncology pharmacy services, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of injectable and systemic cancer therapies.
Operations & Workflow Management
• Coordinate and oversee daily pharmacy operations supporting systemic therapy delivery
• Lead workflow optimization initiatives to improve turnaround times and patient flow
• Manage staffing coordination and real-time troubleshooting
• Liaise with oncology nursing and medical teams
• Oversee inventory management and drug shortage mitigation
Quality Improvement, Innovation & Program Development
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and analyze performance metrics
• Support implementation of new therapies and care models
• Develop workflow enhancements and digital tools
• Lead multidisciplinary process improvement initiatives
Leadership & Human Resources
• Provide frontline leadership to pharmacists and technicians
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Ensure compliance with OCP, NAPRA, USP, and Accreditation Canada
• Maintain SOPs and policies
• Support audits and inspections
• Collaborate on medication safety initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement & Committees
• Act as liaison between pharmacy, nursing, and oncology teams
• Participate in multidisciplinary committees
• Support regional and provincial initiatives
Financial & Resource Stewardship
• Support budget planning and cost centre management
• Collaborate on procurement and contracts
• Contribute to capital planning and infrastructure
Qualifications / Skills
• Current licensure with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
• 3–5 years oncology pharmacy experience
• Knowledge of sterile compounding and chemotherapy workflows
• Leadership experience in healthcare operations
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of regulatory standards
