Job Summary and Qualifications:

  • Summary of Duties:
    • Provides expertise and leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nutritional care of infants in the Neonatal ICU
    • Focuses particularly on the nutrition support of extremely low birth weight infants
    • Regularly attends and contributes to interprofessional morning rounds
    • Prepares TPN and enteral feeding orders in collaboration with team members
    • Provides consultative support for the Neonatal Follow Up Clinic as required

 

The successful candidate will participate in the advancement of patient care through quality initiatives and practice-based research. The candidate will also participate in the training of dietetic interns and other students.

 

Qualifications/Skills:

    • Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
    • Recent neonatal or related nutrition support experience required
    • Demonstrate initiative, teamwork and ability to effectively prioritize work required
    • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills required
    • Experience in providing patient/family counselling required
    • Demonstrate application of evidence-based practice
