Position Summary
Sunnybrook Plastic Surgery Associates (SPSA) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Clinic Nurse to join our busy Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery team at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care throughout the patient’s journey, including pre-operative assessments, assisting with in-clinic procedures, post-operative care, wound management, and patient education. Working closely with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver exceptional, patient-centred care in a collaborative academic practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative patient care, including patient assessments, surgical preparation, patient education, post-operative follow-up, wound care instructions,
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and provide wound management,
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and coordinate patient care
- Support clinic operations and supply management, including ordering and monitoring medical and surgical supplies and providing administrative or reception support as required.
- Contribute to quality improvement and operational efficiency of the plastic surgery clinic
Qualifications and Skills
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Previous experience in surgical, perioperative, ambulatory, or plastic surgery nursing is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of wound assessment and management, post-operative care, infection prevention and control, and aseptic technique.
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
