The Cognitive Brain Health Laboratory at Sunnybrook Research Institute, led by Dr. Jenny Rabin, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator with extensive experience performing blood draws to join our growing research team.

 

This is an in-person position combining hands-on clinical research, participant coordination and opportunities to contribute to menopause education initiatives. Our research spans women's brain health, menopause, cognitive aging, Alzheimer's disease and neuromodulation.  We welcome candidates from a range of healthcare backgrounds and are particularly interested in individuals with experience or specialized training in menopause and women's midlife health.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Independently perform blood draws and collect, process and prepare biological specimens for research studies.
  • Perform additional research-related clinical procedures, including skin biopsies, following appropriate training and institutional authorization.
  • Coordinate research activities, including scheduling study visits, communicating with participants and supporting data collection.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of menopause education initiatives, including workshops and educational resources focused on menopause, cognitive health and healthy aging.
  • Collaborate with researchers, clinicians and other members of our multidisciplinary research team.

 

Qualifications

· Extensive hands-on experience performing blood draws in clinical or research settings, including independently collecting blood samples from individuals with difficult venous access.

· Experience collecting, processing and handling biological specimens.

· Appropriate qualifications and eligibility to perform blood collection in accordance with institutional requirements.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with research participants.

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

· An interest in clinical research, women's health and brain health.

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in a health-related or life sciences field.
  • Knowledge of menopause and women's midlife health, ideally supported by specialized training or Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) certification.
  • Experience developing or delivering patient education, workshops or community health programs.
