The Tory Trauma Research Program at Sunnybrook Research Institute is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and organized Research Coordinator to support a growing portfolio of investigator-initiated clinical trials focused on improving the management of infectious diseases and optimizing antimicrobial therapy.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator, research collaborators, and clinical research teams across Canada and internationally. The position will involve coordinating multiple clinical trials, supporting study development and regulatory approvals, managing research administration, and participating in direct patient recruitment and data collection.
The Research Coordinator will play a central role in two major research initiatives:

- STRAP (Streptococcal Adaptive Platform) Trial: An international adaptive platform trial focused on improving the treatment and outcomes of patients with invasive streptococcal infections.
The successful candidate will also support other ongoing and upcoming clinical trials in infectious diseases, including studies of bloodstream infections and antimicrobial therapy.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative clinical research within a collaborative academic environment, with opportunities for professional development and involvement in research publications and presentations.

- Prepare, submit, and maintain Research Ethics Board (REB) applications, including initial submissions, amendments, annual renewals, and study closure reports.
- Assist with regulatory submissions and ensure ongoing compliance with research requirements, as applicable.
- Maintain essential study documents (delegation logs, training records, and other trial documentation), ensuring completeness and readiness for monitoring or audit.
- Track study deliverables, timelines, and recruitment targets across multiple research projects.
- Support the preparation of grant applications, progress reports, and other research-related documentation.
2. Research Platform and Collaborative Network Coordination
- Support the establishment and ongoing operation of the PRISM-ID and STRAP clinical trial platforms.

- Approach eligible patients and substitute decision-makers, explain study procedures, and obtain informed consent in accordance with approved study protocols and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate participant enrolment, randomization, study interventions, and follow-up assessments.
- Enter and maintain accurate study data using electronic data capture systems, including REDCap.
- Monitor study progress, identify operational challenges, and work with investigators and clinical teams to improve recruitment and protocol adherence.
