Summary of Duties

Performs duties of a painter, including:

  • Prioritizing work, closing off assigned work orders and working independently
  • Preparing work projects by assessing operational and safety risks and assembling required supplies, tools and equipment
  • Preparing surfaces for painting as required
  • Preparing and applying paint and other finishes as required
  • Preparing and applying coverings to walls and windows as required
  • Minor wall patching and sanding
  • Completes related reports as directed;
  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on equipment as required;
  • Other related duties as assigned;
  • Coverage at other campuses as required.

Qualifications/Skills

· Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent Secondary School education required;

· Must possess a current Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Painter;

· Significant recent related experience as a painter required, in a hospital environment preferred;

· Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications required;

· Demonstrated superior understanding of current painting practices as well as proven proficiency in painting techniques;

· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations;

· Proven customer service focus;

· Demonstrated good ability to troubleshoot, solve problems and work on own initiative.
