We currently have a Regular Part Time (0.6 FTE) opportunity for a Animal Attendant I on the Preclinical Research at our Bayview campus.

Hours of Work:

Days, 8 hrs; Friday-Sunday OR Saturday-Monday; Statutory Holidays Required

Summary of Duties

  • The changing of food, water and bedding according to established facility schedules
  • Daily health monitoring and general animal husbandry
  • Washing of cages, racks and bottles.
  • Reception and preparation of incoming animals
  • Cleaning machines, area floors, walls and equipment

Qualifications/Skills

  • Graduate of a Veterinary Technician Program or Animal Care Program
  • Recent animal handling experience preferred
  • Ability to understand and problem solve issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Must have an excellent attendance record
