We currently have a Casual opportunity for a Social Worker in the Ambulatory Mental Health Department at our Bayview Campus.

Summary of Duties:
To provide a full range of social work services to adults, adolescents and their families in the Ambulatory Outpatient Mental Health Division, including those who present in emerge. Services include comprehensive assessments of individuals in crisis, family functioning, time limited and goal oriented family counselling (psycho-education regarding mental illness, assistance with parenting and limit setting, mediation assistance with resolving conflict); and facilitaes referrals to community resources. The position requires ongoing consultation and collaboration with colleagues to coordinate optimal services for clients within an inter -disciplinary approach; co-facilitate psycho-educational groups; crisis assessments/triage for patients referred through Emergency Department; assessment and programming for clients from the emergency, inpatient and youth streams
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work required
- Member in good standing of the OCSWSSW
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a MSW in an Ambulatory/ Outpatient Mental Health setting
- 3-4 years’ expereice in Mental Health Crisis
- Commitment to Patient-focused care
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Strong teambuilding skills
- Knowledge of the principle tenants of CBT and DBT for anxiety and mood disorders
- Extensive experience with Family Therapy using attachment and developmental stages theories, apply
- Brief solution Focused Therapy
- Crisis intervention techniques and risk assessment techniques
- Understanding of concurrent and addiction disorders
- Understanding of anxiety and mood disorders and current treatment interventions
- Knowledge of learning disabilities and the relationship with mental health
- CPI Crisis Intervention
- Excellent assessment, interviewing and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of the health care system and community resources
- Superior ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to student education
- Demonstrated Interprofessional Collaboration knowledge and competencies
