Summary of Duties

Classification: Temporary Full Time (until approx. April 2025)

 

Key responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician includes:

  • Performing functions while meeting standards of accuracy and speed;

  • Filling prescriptions using automation and workflow management software (Symphony/Innovations);

  • Compounding mixtures and other necessary medications;

  • Completing necessary mathematical calculations;

  • Ensuring accuracy in cash register transactions;

  • Preparation of daily cash reconciliation;

  • Preparing orders for delivery;

  • Inventory management;

  • Ordering and receiving medications and supplies.

Must be available to work a Saturday shift as per the regular pharmacy technician rotation.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Qualified to be regulated by the Ontario College of Pharmacists leading to licensure as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician within 18 months of graduation.

  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment

  • Self-motivated to succeed and able to take initiative

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Proficient in computer and data entry skills

  • Previous customer service skills strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of retail pharmacy computer system strongly preferred (Kroll)

  • Knowledge of third party billing preferred
