Summary Of Duties 

  • Supervision and scheduling of HVAC and Power Plant staff.
  • Operates and maintains boilers, chillers, generators, cogeneration system, HVAC, medical gas systems and all other associated equipment in the hospital.
  • Design/planning/supervision of contractors/staff on upgrades and repairs to building systems and equipment.
  • Maintains water treatment program.
  • Shutdown planning, scheduling, and commissioning of projects.
  • Maintains effective preventive maintenance and housekeeping programs.
  • Responds to calls for emergencies, floods, failed piping systems, and other Hospital related issues.
  • Promotes and executes safe work practices in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Ontario Second Class Operating Engineer certificate.
  • Significant, recent related experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
  • Experienced in air conditioning and refrigeration.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting ability.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems
  • Team player with ability to carry out a variety of tasks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, codes and standards.
  • Proficient in applicable computer applications.
