Major Responsibilities

  • Recruit eligible subjects, obtain informed consent, perform protocol specific study procedures, and complete data entry
  • Co-ordination of research MRI scans with clinical visits
  • Preparation of regulatory applications, research ethics board applications, amendments and notifications to Health Canada
  • Maintenance of all documentation associated with assigned clinical trials
  • Work with the research team to design, document and execute the clinical trial
  • Other duties related to research as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in health-related field or equivalent
  • Attention to detail
  • Recognized certification in clinical research (e.g., ACRP or SOCRA) an asset
  • Demonstrated research experience in HC Division 5 clinical trials, including in-depth knowledge of ICH/GCP, PHIPA, TCPS, Health Canada and FDA regulations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing
  • Excellent word processing and computer skills
  • A thorough understanding of research ethics (i.e. informed consent process, patient recruitment), ICH GCP, PHIPA, FDA and Health Canada regulations an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding skills in managing inter-personal interactions.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and ability to coordinate multiple projects, perform concurrent tasks, and work under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to take initiative

 

In addition, the individual is expected to:

 

Work within the larger context of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) and observe Hospital and department rules and regulations, policies, procedures, practices, safety procedures and current legislation, in particular the Human Rights Code regarding discrimination and harassment.  Ensure the confidentiality of patient, employee, graduate student and Hospital information at all times. Work cooperatively and constructively with the other members of SHSC staff. Perform the above functions in a manner, which reflects the Hospital philosophy and mission of service, while promoting and maintaining good public relations with patients, visitors and Hospital staff.
