Summary of Duties

Working with the professional team, the Patient Services Partner participates in the caring of patients by providing a variety of support services to the team and patients, participates as a member of the team in a manner that reflects the Hospital philosophy and mission of service, and promotes and maintains good public relations with patients, visitors and Hospital staff. The Patient Services Partner will be working in the Schulich Heart Centre with his/her primary responsibility being D3. Working within the interprofessional team, the PSP participates in the care of the patients i.e. direct and indirect by providing a variety of supports.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Minimum Grade 11 or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario Ministry of Education

  • PSW Certificate or completed the Sunnybrook PSP (formerly PSA) course required

  • Good communication skills (both written and oral)

  • Recent Experience as a PSP required

  • Minimum 2 years of related health care experience

  • Experience in cardiac care setting preferred

  • Must possess an Infection Control Core Competency Certificate

  • Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Previous acute care experience an asset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
