We currently have opportunities for Registered Practical Nurses on the Veteran's Centre Nursing Resource Team at Sunnybrook.

 

Summary of Duties

RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents/patients within a variety of patient care areas including the Cognitive and Physical Support, Palliative Care, Mental Health, Rehab, and Restorative care while following their scope of practice. The RPN supports the philosophy of Person Centred Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration
  • Current BCLS
  • Diploma RPN or equivalent
  • Previous experience in Palliative, Cognitive and Physical Support, rehabilitation, mental health, and/or restorative care required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic concepts of Gerontology nursing required
  • Demonstrated knowledge in person centred care approaches and principles
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated use of effective communication strategies
  • Basic computer and key boarding skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge in person centred care approaches and principles
