The Dabdoub Lab at Sunnybrook Research Institute is seeking a temporary full time postdoctoral fellow to lead research on mechanisms of human inner ear development and regeneration. We study cochlear and vestibular sensory hair cell regeneration, and auditory neuron regeneration using state-of-art sequencing technologies, computational tools, and in vitro inner ear models. The overall aim is to identify regenerative pathways for treating inner ear disorders.

 

Required qualification/skills:

  • Recent PhD with 0 – 2 years of postdoctoral research experience
  • Highly motivated, curious, and detail-oriented scientist
  • Record of publication in the field of neurobiology, molecular cell biology, bioinformatics, or related field, including first author high-quality scientific publications
  • Ability to independently design and perform experiments, data gathering and analysis, as well as manuscript and grant preparation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written/oral English communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse and collaborative research and training environment

 

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in transcriptomics and epigenomics
  • Coding (R and/or Python)
  • Cell/molecular biology techniques (e.g., culturing, organoids, transfection/transduction)
  • Advanced confocal microscopy imaging
