Summary of Duties

The PAA is responsible for coordination of patient flow (admission/transfer/discharge) and patient activities; administrative services for patient care unit; maintenance of patient records; staffing, scheduling and payroll.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • One year of Community College - Medical Terminology course preferred
  • Outstanding customer Service skills essential
  • One year of Administrative/Business experience required, in a health care setting preferred
  • Demonstrated Patient-Focused Care/Customer Service behaviour
  • Knowledge of software packages such as Word/Windows
  • Demonstrated proficiency using SRM e-requisitioning program
  • Demonstrated proficiency using ESP payroll program
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Sunnycare/Order Entry Functions
  • Typing at 40 net words per minute or keyboarding at 106 net keystrokes per minute
  • Ability to organize work effectively and work at a fast pace in an unpredictable environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
