Summary of Duties:

The Dietary Aide will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Preparation and assembly of patient meal trays
  • Dishwashing of patient meal trays, pots & pans, food service wares & equipment
  • Supporting Food Services quality improvement initiatives
  • Communicating with Supervisor regarding discrepancies

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • One year of practical experience in food service environment – required
  • Food Handlers Certification (Public Health) – required
  • WHMIS training – required
  • Demonstrate reliable work attendance record – required
  • Service and detail oriented
  • Able to stand, walk and bend without restrictions
  • Able to lift floor to waist up to 20lbs
  • Able to push/ pull food service equipment, smallwares up to 30lbs
  • Able to read, write and speak English
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Requiring minimal supervision
  • Follow established standards for food handling & preparation
  • Maintain established sanitation and safety standards in the care and cleaning of food service dishes and equipment
  • Follow all new and existing department policies and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a strong team environment
