  • Job Summary:

    The IPAC Associate is responsible for supporting the delivery of the department's strategic plan, annual plan, and quarterly deliverables. This role will provide weekday/weekend coverage involving clinical assessments, surveillance activities, and supporting IPAC Practitioners during outbreaks. The role will also provide support on special projects, education planning, and general office operations. The IPAC Associate will work closely with team members to ensure efficient coordination and successful execution of initiatives within the department.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Surveillance: Provide weekday/weekend coverage involving clinical assessments, surveillance activities, and supporting IPAC Practitioners during outbreaks.
    • Project Coordination: Coordinate and support special projects within the department, including research initiatives, process improvements, and policy updating and development. Monitor project milestones.
    • Office Operations: Provide general administrative support to the department, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, preparing correspondence, and coordinating travel arrangements.
    • Budget Management: Support the Program’s Leadership with department financial management by assisting in the preparation of budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, documents, and databases related to department activities. Organization and accurate documentation/minutes of various program standing meetings, special meetings/working groups, and affiliate committee submissions. Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, and distribute meeting minutes.
    • Training and Development: Assist in organizing relevant training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Regulated healthcare professional, OR Masters in Public Health (MPH), OR a bachelor's degree in microbiology, epidemiology or healthcare related field.
    • Completion or current enrollment in an IPAC course (endorsed by IPAC Canada), required or Master of Public Health with IPAC specialization, considered an asset/strongly preferred.
    • Member of Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC Canada), preferred
    • Project coordinator in a healthcare or public health setting.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
    • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
    • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
    • Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices and regulations is a plus.
