Summary of Duties:
Provide administrative support for the Drug Safety Clinic, a fast-paced multi-disciplinary clinic
dedicated to evaluating and testing patients for drug allergies and managing adverse drug reactions.
Duties include:
Schedule patient appointments, maintain patient/clinic records
Greet, screen, registers patients in-person and over the phone, and coordinate patient flow
during clinic.
Performs administrative tasks answer phone, fields’ patient inquiries in a timely manner, prompt
respond to emails, word processing, faxing, filing, and ordering supplies.
Submits OHIP billings for physicians
Assist clinic physicians, pharmacist, nurses as needed
Other duties as required for clinic operations
Qualifications/Skills
Successful completion of Medical Secretary program/diploma at community college level plus a
minimum of 2 years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and
experience
Recent experience providing administrative support in a health care/hospital setting
Working knowledge of PHS/PAS, QuadraMed, Outlook and Microsoft Office an asset
Experience with Electronic Medical Record (Accuro) an asset
Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent problem-solving and exceptional time management skills
Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical/medical terminology
Strong computer and keyboarding skills
Demonstrated satisfactory attendance and punctuality required
