Summary of Duties:

This role will provide dietitian coverage for various programs across acute care, including but not limited to the Tory Trauma, Schulich Heart, Odette Cancer, and Hurvitz Brain Sciences programs.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for the nutritional management of patients in accordance with Clinical Nutrition Standard of Practice as well as the principles of person-centered care. 

The successful candidate will participate in the advancement of patient care through daily interprofessional rounds, unit-based and organizational committees, quality initiatives and practice-based research. The candidate will also participate in the education of dietetic interns and other students as applicable.

Qualifications/Skills:

•    Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
•    Experience assessing, implementing and managing enteral nutrition, parenteral nutrition, and therapeutic diets required 
•    Experience providing patient/family education required
•    Effective communication and collaboration skills required
•    Demonstrated ability to work with diverse patient populations and care settings required
•    Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and ability to effectively prioritize work across multiple units required
•    Application of evidence-based practice required
•    Commitment to ongoing professional development required
•    Flexibility with scheduling to provide coverage for dietitian absences required
