Summary of Duties

· Responsible for maintaining stock of essential supplies in Chemotherapy Unit as well as T-wing and M-wing clinic exam rooms and procedure rooms

· Prepare requisitions for supplies, check supplies when received, prepare invoices, forward requisitions to Accounts Payable for payment; prepare orders for pharmacy ward stock

· Assist with onsite instrument reprocessing and tracking of instruments and supplies

· Assist with rooming patients

· E-mail orders to purchasers and communicate with vendors

· Liaise with Cytology and other departments to receive supplies e.g. retrieve juices from food stores, specimen bottles from Microbiology, instruments from Biomedical engineering, instruments from RPC after processing, etc.

· Ensure agreements and service contracts are forwarded to the managers for approval

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Completion of a formal 2 or 3 year post-secondary program at a community
  • college
  • Successful completion of medical terminology and instrumentation course
  • PSW certificate preferred
  • Infection Prevention and Control Certificate required
  • Two (2) years of recent related health care experience
  • Previous experience working with computers required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency an asset
  • Flexibility and willingness to take direction
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple demands from
  • multiple sources
  • Ability to lift, push and pull objects weighing 10-20kg
