Position Summary
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is undertaking Project REACH, a multi-year initiative to implement Oracle Health’s Hospital Information System (HIS).
We are seeking an Application Administrator to support the integration, configuration, and ongoing lifecycle management of third-party and ancillary applications within the Oracle Health ecosystem.
This role bridges technical and operational domains—ensuring that external and internal applications are properly configured, maintained, secured, and integrated to sustain hospital operations throughout and after go-live.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Lifecycle Management
- Install, configure, and maintain assigned enterprise and departmental applications.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and version control in coordination with Oracle and third-party vendors.
- Monitor application performance, uptime, and data integrity; proactively tune system parameters.
- Participate in system health assessments and ensure readiness for post-implementation sustainment.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex application issues and escalations from operational teams.
- Coordinate with Oracle Health, internal IT, and vendor support for issue resolution.
- Participate in system testing, validation, and production cutover activities.
- Configuration & Integration
- Configure application workflows, rules, and settings to meet business and clinical needs.
- Support the integration of third-party applications (e.g., Meditech, diagnostic systems, research databases) into the Oracle Health HIS.
- Collaborate with Integration, Data & BI teams to ensure stable and compliant data exchange (HL7, FHIR, API).
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, configuration guides, and escalation procedures.
- Ensure all applications comply with PHIPA, privacy, and cybersecurity standards.
- Participate in change control and release management processes.
- Manage user roles, privileges, and access levels within assigned applications.
- Oversee test and sandbox environments to support safe configuration and validation.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business owners, clinical teams, and project managers to align technical solutions with operational needs.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement, test, and stabilize integrated workflows.
- Support end-user training, onboarding, and documentation of key workflows.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience managing enterprise or clinical applications in a healthcare or regulated environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of application administration, integration, and configuration best practices.
- Familiarity with Cerner/Oracle Health, Meditech, or other HIS/EHR systems preferred.
- Experience with HL7, FHIR, APIs, and middleware/integration engines (e.g., Cloverleaf, Rhapsody).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; able to work in fast-paced, clinical settings.
