In collaboration with the Radiation Therapy Department at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, the Tran Lab is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and experienced individual to work in a fast-paced clinical research environment in the Odette Cancer Centre. The successful incumbent will work directly with the Principal Investigator and clinical research team to execute a qualitative research study.  They will be responsible for executing the study protocol including but not limited to obtaining informed consent and conducting qualitative interviews with participants who are either patients receiving radiation therapy or their caregivers.

 

Summary of Duties:

 

  • Recruit participants by coordinating with clinicians in the patient’s circle of care and obtain informed consent to participate in the study
  • Maintain all study related records
  • Coordinate with participants to schedule study interview date and time
  • Conduct semi structured interviews with participants who are either patients undergoing radiation treatments or their caregivers
  • Transcribe the recorded interviews and assist in the coding and thematic analysis of transcriptions

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or equivalent ( MSc degree is an asset).
  • At least 2+ years research support experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience is conducting qualitative research is considered an asset
  • Understanding of project management processes and methodology.
  • Computer proficiency including advanced skills with MS Office applications is required.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
