Salary Range: $25.329-29.618/hour

Summary of Duties
To provide medical secretarial support services to the inter-professional Neurophysiology Lab. Duties include booking and scheduling, typing correspondence, setting up patient appointments and tests, responding to enquiries, entering data in databases, assisting clinical staffs with patient care, and setting up and maintaining files. Some billing may be required. Other duties as required.
This department is a fast paced environment with multiple doctors, clinics and procedures which requires flexibility.
 
Qualifications/Skills

  • Requires successful completion of a two (2) year Medical Secretarial program/diploma at the community college level plus a minimum of two (2) years related practical experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of software packages such as Accuro, PAS/PHS, SunnyCare and QuadraMed are required.
  • Experience in booking necessary diagnostic tests/procedures
  • Prior experience as an Medical Secretary in a Neurophysiology Lab required
  • Demonstrated proficiency and advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in keyboarding (40 net wpm)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English grammar, with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills in order to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and work collaboratively with health care team
  • Demonstrated satisfactory performance and attendance required
