Position Overview
The Stewardship Intern will support the Stewardship Department in delivering thoughtful, timely, and engaging experiences for donors at Sunnybrook Foundation. This role plays an important part in ensuring donors are meaningfully recognized, understand the impact of their contributions, and feel connected to the Foundation’s work.
The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in project coordination, communications, and the inner workings of healthcare philanthropy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build practical skills in a mission-driven environment
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Stewardship Intern you will:
- Review and update two donor walls, including pulling and revising donor lists
- Support coordination and installation of donor recognition with external vendors
- Conduct an audit in Raiser’s Edge to ensure Donor recognition and Gift Agreement actions are current and accurately recorded, and lead the creation of documentation to update missing data
- Support the audit and update of Name for Recognition within Raiser’s Edge.
- Audit Digital Edge to confirm all final recognition proposals are properly uploaded and filed, and lead to entry of any missing information
- Draft clear, engaging descriptions of hospital recognition spaces for use in donor proposals
- Write thoughtful, donor-centred thank-you email copy
- Develop copy for event materials, including save-the-dates, invitations, reminders and thank you email
- Leveraging a new PowerPoint template, lead the update of assets for digital donor recognition.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for stewardship and cultivation events
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies
Below are qualifications and competencies we believe the successful candidate will need for this role:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively time-managing to complete multiple competing deadlines and projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Interest in healthcare, philanthropy, communications, or nonprofit work
- Experience with databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) is an asset but not required
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite
Total Rewards Package
The hiring salary for this position is $22.00 per hour. In addition to salary, our competitive compensation package includes HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan), hybrid work environment with a minimum of two (2) days in office.
