Sunnybrook Momentum, is a revenue generating program specializing in assessment and treatment for clients with workplace and accident-related injuries.

Our services ranges from assessment to treatment — including prevention, education and timely return to function. We serve the clients of insurers, employers, lawyers and other third-party payers

In this role you will provide effective, evidence-based diagnosis, prognosis and treatment planning to support appropriate recovery for patients, with a strong focus on return to work.  You will work with a full range of clients who have a variety of mental health and/or substance issues, some with musculoskeletal injuries, concussions and other concurrent conditions and will:

  • Conduct assessment and treatment of clients referred by third-party payers (eg. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), employers, insurers, lawyers)
  • Complete comprehensive reports outlining prognosis, diagnosis, treatment plan including recommendations for return to work
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to manage the treatment and return to work goals (including Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Pain Specialist, Physicians etc)
  • Provide education to clients on a variety of intervention strategies to manage a successful recovery and return to work
  • Collaborate on the development of educational materials and in-services
  • Hybrid of onsite and remote

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Ph.D. in clinical psychology from a CPA/APA approved program
  • Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) is required
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Training in CBT, group facilitation skills, and other modalities (CPT, PET, DBT, ACT, MBCT, BA, MI)
  • Psycho-diagnostic assessment and psychotherapy skills
  • Clinical experience with a range of psychological disorders (PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, severe and complex mental illness, personality disorders) preferred
  • Clinical experience working with First Responders preferred
  • Clinical experience with patients with comorbid physical injuries and chronic pain disorders would be an asset
  • Able to complete cognitive FAE would be an asset
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage ongoing work in an efficient manner
  • Able to provide clinical supervision to an interdisciplinary team
