The Schulich Heart Centre is one of Canada’s leading cardiac centres with an international reputation for patient care and minimally invasive cardiac diagnostic and treatment pathways. Demand for our specialized care is growing as patients present with increasing complexity amid a shortage of skilled experts. The Debbie Schulich Women’s Cardiac Health Fellowship Program offers a robust competitive fellowship opportunity that trains the next generation of leaders to carry forward our same commitment to world-class care.
With support from the Schulich Heart Foundation we have established the Debbie Schulich Women’s Cardiac Health Fellowship. This new clinical fellowship in Women’s Cardiac Health will focus on women’s heart health challenges and play an integral role in advancing research, improving treatment of heart disease and cardiac conditions preferentially experienced by women, and ensuring women receive specialized, evidence-based care that will transform health outcomes for women.
This clinical fellowship will support one fellow per year, spanning several clinical specialties including the Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) Clinic led by Dr. Mina Madan; the Cardio-Obstetrics Clinic led by Dr. Jennifer Amadio; Cardio-Oncology with Dr. Barbara Doumouras and Dr. Shaheeda Ahmed, and other specialty clinics and experiences within Women’s Cardiac Health. This fellowship will provide a diverse range of subspecialty experiences and dedicated research mentorship to advance the field of Women’s Cardiac Health.
The Schulich Heart Centre has initiated recruitment for this unique and specialized area of care to start in July 2027. Please forward applications Attn: Dr. Jennifer Amadio, through the Cardio-Obstetrics administrator at fernanda.calle@sunnybrook.ca. Candidates must provide a letter of intent, Curriculum Vitae, 3 letters of recommendation, and letter of good standing from current program (if currently a trainee).
In accordance with PARO requirements, this is a stipend-based clinical fellowship position.
