We currently have Part Time opportunities for an Environmental Services Partner in the Environmental Services Department at Sunnybrook.

 

Summary of Duties:

Environmental Services Partner (Housekeeper) is responsible for maintaining a clean, healthy and safe environment for all patients, staff and visitors. The part-time ESP will adhere to all hospital and departmental policies, procedures and Infection Prevention and Control protocols while performing duties which include but are not limited to:

 

  • Cleaning of patient rooms, public and clinical areas, offices, labs and other spaces
  • Replenishing of supplies
  • Floor maintenance including use of equipment such as: swing buffer, refurbisher, automated floor scrubber, vacuum
  • Collection and transportation of all types of waste and soiled linen
  • Cleaning of bodily fluids when required

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 11 education (or recognized equivalent)
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend English through reading, writing and speaking
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction and work collaboratively in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to lift 20 to 30 lbs
  • Ability to meet and withstand the physical demands of this position which include: continuous walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and twisting for extended periods of time as well as climbing ladders
  • Willingness to adopt and exemplify our core values of excellence, collaboration, accountability, respect and engagement while performing principal tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to practice and adhere to high level cleaning standards and safety protocols which include wearing all appropriate PPE in order to perform essential requirements of this position
  • Proven flexibility and good attendance record to meet changing operational demands
  • Previous cleaning experience would be considered an asset, but not mandatory
  • Must be willing and prepared to operate all housekeeping related equipment including swing buffer, high speed burnisher, automatic floor scrubber and vacuum
  • Must be willing to work at all Sunnybrook campuses
