Summary of Duties:

Provides direct patient care to patients in the General Medicine/Nephrology PSU in accordance with standards of the College of Nurses organization. Embracing the philosophy of Person Centered Care;

  • Collaborates with patients and families and multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care needs and documents information according to appropriate standards

  • Engages in continuous learning and improvement activities in the work environment by providing feedback regarding areas progressing well and those requiring improvement

 

Qualifications:

  • Current Ontario Registration, B.Sc.N. preferred

  • Successful completion of pre-interview quiz. Passing mark 80%

  • Current B.C.L.S.

  • Preferably with 2 years of acute care experience within the last 5 years

  • Preferably with 5 years of general Internal Medicine experience

  • Successful completion of Nephrology 1 or demonstrated nephrology experience in lieu of

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Person Centred Care approach and principles

  • Demonstrated ability to implement and champion change

  • Ability to set priorities in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated innovative practice in and appreciation of the unique needs and care of older adults

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based practice
