Summary of Duties
• Quantitative and qualitative analysis & review of patients’ charts in accordance with legislative requirements and Hospital policies;
• Processing of Surgical Day Care visits according to departmental procedures.
• Assist in other departmental duties as required.
• May be required to work from other sites ie. Holland Centre and SJR.
Qualifications/Skills
• Certified with CHIMA/Certified Health Record Technician;
• Minimum of one year experience in a Health Record Department;
• Minimum of six months experience working in a Health Record Technician role preferred;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• Typing at 40 net wpm or data entry at 106 net kspm
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and maintain good public relations with physicians, patients and other hospital staff;
• Proven ability to respond effectively in stressful situations;
• Demonstrated sound judgment and diplomacy;
• Attention to detail;
• Candidates will be required to perform clerical and departmental testing.
