Summary of Duties

We are seeking an experienced RPN to work in the fast-paced environment of the Colposcopy Unit assisting with procedures and providing Person Centred Care. In addition, the individual will have the necessary skills and certification to work in the Cystoscopy Clinic. The RPN will participate as a member of the ambulatory care team in a manner that reflects the Hospital’s philosophy and mission of service, and which promotes and maintains good public relations with patients, visitors and hospital staff.

The RPN should have an ability to adapt to a fast-changing and stressful environment and may be requested to float to other procedure-related areas in the OR & Related Services.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Grade 12 as recognized by the Province of Ontario Ministry of Education
  • Graduate of R.P.N. course with current registration with CNO
  • Completion of Laser certificate an asset
  • Recent gyneocology/urology experience an asset
  • Demonstrated technical competence
  • Ability to work under stress
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and ability to prioritize in a stressful environment required
  • Competent computer skills required
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Proven ability to promote Person Centered Care in a clinic environment Expertise in the performance of gynecological operative techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in a Patient-Focused Care environment within a multidisciplinary team, including students
  • Demonstrated interest in personal professional development
  • Demonstrated commitment to Person Centred Care approach and principles
  • Demonstrated leadership/and strong conflict management skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
