Summary of Duties:
We currently have a temporary part-time pharmacist position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Pharmacy.

•    The role of the NICU Pharmacist 2 is a prolific and integral one. The goal is to provide professional, consistent, and reliable service to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the patients, and their families, as the Pharmacy Leader.
•    This person is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to the NICU patients and participates in multiple, daily inter-professional care rounds in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
•    Conducts evidence-based clinical practice reviews and participates in inter-professional committees within the NICU and the Women and Babies Program.
•    Implements clinical research and educational programs for clinicians, PharmD candidates and pharmacy residents.
•    Provides mentorship and supervision to the pharmacy technicians in the NICU pharmacy
•    Participates in neonatal inter-professional education and research
•    Participates in the process of transition to home from the NICU as it relates to medications; providing counselling and education to parents and care providers, and coordinating with local pharmacies.

Qualifications/Skills
•    Current Part A registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists is required
•    Accredited Clinical Pharmacy Residency is an asset
•    Recent related hospital clinical care experience and neonatal critical care experience is an asset
•    Able to work well independently and in a team environment
•    Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
•    Possess analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
•    Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
•    Reliable, self-motivated and able to take initiative
•    Able to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines
•    Able to complete long-term projects requiring persistent effort
•    Customer service skills and empathetic manner
