Summary of Duties

  • Provide advanced PAA support to the Fracture Clinic

  • Coordination of all administration and clerical activities within the department

  • Duties include: Patient Registration and updating of patient information, scheduling appointment, ordering and coordinating x-rays and other diagnostic procedures

  • Chart preparation for all patient

  • Respond to incoming phone calls, direct inquiries to appropriate personnel/area

  • Other administrative duties as required

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Grade 12 educations with Post-secondary business/secretarial courses;

  • Candidates who have successfully completed the hospitals PAA training will be given priority consideration

  • One year of Administrative/Business experience required, in a health care setting preferred

  • Medical Terminology course preferred

  • Computer/typing skills including Windows and MS Word are required;

  • Keyboarding at 40w.p.m. with maximum 5% error Rate

  • Demonstrated Patient-Focused Care/Customer Service behavior

  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast- paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated understanding and ability to work in an inter-professional team environment

  • Proficiency with SunnyCare and Quadramed is required

  • Proficiency with electronic payroll system is required

  • Two years of experience with the PHS (patient scheduling system) is required

  • Experience in orthopedics and trauma is strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to respond effectively in a stressful situations

  • Excellent problem solving skills, ability to deal with conflict and communicate appropriately with patients, families and staff

  • Effective time management skills and ability to multitask is essential
