Summary of Duties:

The Supervisor Anatomic Pathology candidate will have technical expertise in Histopathology.

  • Provide administrative support for all lab areas under Anatomic Pathology
  • Strong theoretical knowledge and practical expertise of Histotechnology in a clinical laboratory
  • Will work effectively with medical staff, management, peers, technical and administrative staff, users of laboratory medicine to ensure quality patient care services are maintained
  • Leads opportunities to improve services including the identification, evaluation and implementation of technical enhancements;
  • Ensures that all staff adhere to standardized practices in daily performance of duties
  • Works with management to ensure effective financial and human resource utilization including development of budgets, business cases and performance monitoring
  • Active participation at internal and external meetings and committee work is required 

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • CMLTO licensing as a General Medical Laboratory Technologist
  • Minimum 3 years in a senior position in a clinical Histotechnology laboratory
  • Required to work in a dynamic, busy environment
  • Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge of all aspects of Histotechnology
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems including quality control, quality assurance, LEAN principles
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to foster a supportive team environment.
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Effective interactions with individuals at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and organization skills
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
