Summary of Duties

The Hospital Coordinator is the on-site delegate for Program Leadership/Managers outside of regular hours. Key responsibilities include:

  • The delivery of high quality patient-centred care;
  • Team work and professional practice in accordance with defined standards;
  • Staffing and human resource management;
  • Ensuring appropriate support services, supplies and a safe environment;
  • Coordinating emergency/risk management activities;
  • Championing program initiatives and reporting outcomes.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • R.N. (B.Sc.N. education required, Masters preferred)
  • Previous experience at the managerial level preferred
  • Good knowledge of the operation of all Hospital departments
  • 3-5 years general medical/surgical, with orthopaedic experience
  • Capable of functioning independently with excellent leadership, team building, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement and manage change
  • Collaborative approach to teaching, learning and conflict management
  • Ability to assist staff in integrating the concept of patient-centred care into clinical practice and promoting interprofessional team work.
  • Proven assessment and organization skills
  • ACLS preferred
